Digital Risk Management Certificate

The Digital Risk Management Certificate is the ideal qualification for anyone looking to develop an understanding of risk management in the digital era. The qualification has been designed to introduce learners to digital disruption, its causes and consequences and to equip individuals with the tools and techniques to apply their skills in an increasingly digital world.
Taking 6-9 months to complete, the certificate is a distance learning study programme that is relevant to all sectors.
This new specialist Certificate, awarded by the IRM and developed with support from the WMG Cyber Security Centre at the University of Warwick and the University’s Department of Politics and International Studies, has been designed to equip individuals to apply and develop their skills in an increasingly digital world.
The qualification provides an introduction to the concepts of digital risk management and explains how new technologies and digitalisation are disrupting businesses, changing the risk environment for organisations of all types and posing new ethical challenges. It explores how appropriate risk management tools and techniques can be applied, adapted and developed in the digital context and provides a detailed introduction to cyber security principles and practices.

The certificate is set at an equivalent level of difficulty to an undergraduate degree.
Students undertaking the Digital Risk Management Certificate qualification can complete the qualification within 6-9 months.
An indicative study time for the qualification is between 180 and 200 hours per module.

There are no formal entry requirements.
IRM's qualifications are delivered and assessed in English. If English is not your first language, we recommend you have an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 (with no element less than 5.5) or equivalent evidence of competence in the English language before beginning your studies.
The first examination session is on 25 November 2019. There will be 3 examination sessions in 2020 in March, June, and December.

Pearson VUE has an extensive test centre network across the world.
Students will be notified of the date they can book the test centre for the exam after they have enrolled on the qualification and their payment successfully processed.
Special needs and access arrangements
Wherever possible, examination arrangements will take into account any special requirements you have. If you complete an application for special arrangements, we must receive your completed form no later than two months before your scheduled examination and before you book your exam centre with Pearson VUE. This is to give us enough time to effectively help you with your requirements. While we aim to meet all requests, we cannot fulfil requirements where applications are received late.
Who is the qualification suitable for?
This qualification is recommended for anyone who wishes to understand risk management in the digital era. It provides a basis for understanding digital disruption, its causes and its consequences, and it equips students with the tools and techniques of professional risk management to mitigate the risks inherent in the digital world of the fourth industrial revolution.
It is an introduction to the subject of digital risk management for those from all disciplines directly or indirectly related to professional risk management.
For existing IRM members, it is also suitable as a supplementary qualification for continuing professional development.
Can students currently enrolled on another IRM qualification enrol onto this Certificate at the same time?
There are no restrictions on current students enrolled on the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management, International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management, or the International Diploma in Enterprise Risk Management from enrolling onto this qualification at the same time.
Students wishing to do this will need to consider the amount of time they have available, and whether their schedules will allow them to undertake an additional qualification which requires approximately 200 hours of study.
