Professional and practitioner grades:

Fellow

(FIRM)

The most senior IRM membership grade

Fellowship

requirements:

  • IRM Membership (MIRM)

and

  • 200 IRM Fellowship points
  • or   Fellowship dissertation
     

Member

(MIRM)

Recognised worldwide as the sign of a risk management professional

Membership

requirements:

  • 3 years relevant work experience

and

  • IRM International Diploma in Risk Management
  • or  equivalent risk qualification
     

Graduate

(GradIRM)

Progressing towards Membership (MIRM) Graduate

requirements:

  • Completed the IRM International Diploma, but yet to complete three years experience
     

Certificant

(CIRM)

Risk practitioner

Certificant membership

requirements:

  • Completed the IRM International Certificate
     
IRM student grades:

IRM

Diploma student

Student of the professional post-graduate qualification, the IRM Diploma in Risk Management IRM Diploma

entry requirements:

  • Completed the Institute’s Certificate in Risk Management
  • or completed a degree, Masters or MBA
  • or a relevant professional qualification – including ACII, FCII, NEBOSH Diploma, PIIA, APM, ACA, ACILA
  • or 25 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
     

IRM

Certificate student

Student of the 6-9 month introductory qualification, the IRM Certificate in Risk Management IRM Certificate

  • There are no entry requirements

Affiliate Open to everyone with an interest in risk Affiliate
     

Undergraduate

A heavily discounted annual subscription fee, and no joining fee.
