Dstl exists to provide our armed forces with the winning edge. The MOD’s centre of scientific excellence, we house one of the largest communities of scientists and engineers in the country. As an organisation engaged in pioneering and sensitive research, it’s vital we manage our risks effectively. And that’s where this crucial new role comes into play.
Focusing on how Dstl functions at an operational level, you’ll facilitate the integration of Risk Management and Business Continuity into normal working practices, advising managers on risk capture and implementation of mitigation actions. You’ll also be responsible for planning appropriate training for incident management and business continuity, and ensuring that contingency plans are fit for purpose. With broad knowledge of risk management toolsets and experience in incident and contingency planning in a technical/scientific environment, you’ll ideally be familiar with Treasury Guidelines on Risk Management (Orange Book).
