University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Trust Risk Manager to join the Trust Secretariat which is part of the office of the Chief Executive. This new role is designed to further develop a healthy and growing culture of risk awareness in the Trust. The Trust Risk Manager will establish, implement and performance-manage a programme of standardised, consistent, effective risk management. Working closely with the Trust Management Executive and Divisional Management Boards, the Trust Risk Manager will drive the risk appetite and tolerance established by the Trust Board of Directors. This role and function will be carried out under the direction of the Trust Secretary.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in risk management or a risk-related discipline, a post-graduate diploma in Risk Management or NHS ‘governance’, or equivalent post-graduate qualification, and might be a Registered Risk Practitioner or working towards registration. Ideally, they will be a Member of the Institute of Risk Management. These qualifications must be supported by demonstrable knowledge of the functions of risk in a range of corporate disciplines, including business strategy, clinical and operational service delivery, finance & commerce, and compliance & regulation. Together, the qualifications and knowledge of the successful candidate will have been applied using information and knowledge management systems and data analysis to support the highest levels of management (i.e. Boards of Directors and Executive Management Teams).
