American Express is currently seeking a high-calibre individual to join our Global Credit Ratings team, in a key risk management role.

As a Risk Manager, you’ll conduct in-depth credit analysis on businesses and financial institutions with large risk exposure across Europe, Asia, and Australasia. This will entail incorporating a thorough review of business, financial, industry and country-specific risk while utilising existing internal and external data and models.

This position will also entail developing risk rating policies and procedures, and working alongside the team in helping develop advanced quantitative credit risk models.

Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree (or equivalent high level degree) in a finance-related discipline or relevant experience
• Commercial credit experience within a leading financial institution or bank
• Experience of managing regional GAAP and IFRS formats, supported by a thorough understanding of corporate balance sheets, cash-flows, income statements and business strategy
• Experience of assigning credit risk ratings and assessing Probabilities of Default ( PD )
• Knowledge of public agency ratings, supported by experience of preparing company-specific credit reports
• Experience of evaluating international counterparties in European, Asia Pacific or Latin American markets is a plus
