Job Title: Business Continuity Consultant
Employer: LV=
Location: Based in Croydon (covering the whole of the UK)
Salary: £40k-£50k dependent upon experience

About us

As the UK’s largest friendly society, with more than 2.5 million customers and a 2,500 strong team, our mission is to provide a first-class service for our customers, as well as a great place to work for our people. And with ambitious plans for the future, we’re now looking for the sharpest of minds to help us build on our success.

About the role

In this varied and challenging role, you’ll be working at the heart of our success, developing robust continuity plans across our general insurance business. A natural problem solver with a keen pre-emptive eye, you’ll identify risks and areas of vulnerability, preventing operational disruption wherever possible. Acting proactively and decisively when incidents do happen (e.g. system down time), you’ll learn from what went wrong and design intelligent improvements for the future. Analysis and reporting will form a major part of your day-to-day activity, as will building excellent relationships right across the company (particularly with IT and business function teams), ensuring the smooth and agile running of our expanding organisation.

About you

Having managed business continuity planning within a complex, high-value commercial organisation in the past, you’ll be comfortable co-ordinating robust plans in a multi-site, multi-functional environment. Combining sound experience of risk analysis (ideally within financial services), a broad understanding of computer systems and knowledge of relevant regulatory best practice (e.g. BS259999, PAS56, Civil Contingencies Act 04 and BCI Good Practice Guidelines), you’ll be capable and confident, even when under pressure. Perhaps most importantly though, you’ll relish this opportunity to forge and nurture excellent relationships across the business, to the benefit of all. You’ll also need to be flexible enough to travel regularly to various Group sites.
