With almost 400 staff, up to 50 students and visiting scientists and an annual budget of £30 million, the BBSRC-sponsored Institute for Animal Health is the largest establishment in the UK undertaking high quality
research into infectious diseases of livestock.
In this newly-created position, you will implement enhanced Risk Management across both our sites, operating mainly from our Compton Laboratory. We will look to you to champion innovative practice, as you assist colleagues at every level in identifying, managing and mitigating risks, so we’re looking for a true self-starter. In particular, you will implement Risk Management using an in-house developed Risk Register (based on international standards) and appropriate recognised methodology, embed a Risk Management cultural change and provide a consultative service on a broad spectrum of risk matters, whilst supporting stakeholders across the Organisation.
Of graduate calibre, you will bring appropriate professional qualifications (PRMIA or equivalent) and extensive experience in relevant roles, ideally backed by IRM membership. At the same time, knowledge of ISO 9001 processes would be a major advantage, but it’s your planning skills, team spirit and influencing skills that will count.
Details and an application form are available from: Human Resources, Institute for Animal Health, Compton, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 7NN (tel: 01635 577203; e-mail: iah.vacances@bbsrc.ac.uk) quoting reference number. 07/00075. Closing date 26th June
